About the Book

...that bill that needs to be paid...there isn't much work...the car needs to be changed but not before all those debts are cleared...In other words, the usual garbage, but from that moment on my life changed completely, because I finally understood, thanked and prayed.I stopped in the traffic queue behind the other cars, at the second traffic-light in Arzachena. It was red again: as usual - two times out of two - always the same!About six cars ahead of me, on the right, there is a dingy-looking, square-shaped little portico and a hairdresser's window with a thin white marble door-step.The street was full of cars, full of people walking to and fro, and under that little portico I saw Jesus, The Nazarene.I looked at Him and recognized Him (believe me if such an experience happened to you, you wouldn't doubt it was Him), but in seeing Him I wasn't scared, nor stunned and not even emotional. I did nothing and nothing happened to me. It was like it was the most natural thing in the world - an everyday occurrence.I suppose deep down I didn't realize at all what was happening and I said out loud the most idiotic thing a human person could ever possibly say: "Jesus?...but what is Jesus doing here?...There's no church here!."Anyway, I continued looking at Him; I couldn't take my eyes off Him. He was a young man, not yet thirty. He wasn't the age typical of the many images we see in churches, but younger, around 25. With blond hair, almost straight, turning wavy as it fell onto His shoulders...Let's just think about this for a moment, dear readers: a young Man like this, in the prime of His youth, Who chose to be scourged and die on the cross in order to save us and our children. I managed to grasp the immense power, depth of mercy and magnitude of His choice only later...much later.I can't tell you if Jesus had a beard or not, because I remember His face only vaguely, but I think He did have some. I'm very sorry for this lapse of memory. He was very slim with a perfectly straight back. He held a hand up in such a position that He appeared to be greeting someone on the other side of the road. But I didn't look across; I continued to look just at Him the entire time. Jesus wasn't exactly facing me but only partly, giving me a side view of His left profile. He was wearing a light-blue tunic and not the typical robes of bright yellows and reds that you see in many holy pictures; He was in light blue - blue as the sky at three o'clock in the afternoon.I can't tell you if He was barefoot, touching the ground, or if He was wearing shoes - I looked down carefully but the tunic, which was extremely simple, reached to only two or three centimeters off the ground and so I couldn't see His feet. All around me everything carried on as normal: nobody got out of the other cars; the people walking on the pavement didn't stop; nobody ran to kneel down at the feet of Jesus; nothing at all happened... It was then that I realized I was the only one seeing the apparition. After about two minutes in the traffic queue waiting for the lights to turn green, I shook myself and realizing what was happening I said to myself: "No...This is not possible! Jesus died two thousand years ago! This must surely be a statue, or an icon, or something else... I'm going to take a look!."But alas!, the traffic-light had already turned green, so I went into first gear and released the handbrake, but from that moment I no longer saw Him! Jesus disappeared in that very instant!Past the traffic light, I strained to see if He had moved, but I could no longer see anyone under the portico or next to it...Only later I understood what had happened. If I think again about those two sentences I said aloud, by far the most idiotic one, if not the most serious, was the second. It was by far the most serious because of my lack of Faith, to the point that I didn't even believe what I had actually seen with my very own eyes! And Jesus left and went away
