About the Author: David Ross, a resident of San Diego, California, was able to walk away from a cigarette smoking addiction of 20 years, an alcohol drinking addiction of 25 years, and other vices that had led to homelessness. In his book, I Finally Quit...And So Can You: How to Gain Everything by Quitting, he details the losses he faced due to addiction, then how he created a safe and fun environment for others to follow his lead; quitting actions and behaviors that hold them back. I Finally Quit...And So Can You is a candid look at how quickly and easily someone can end up homeless and near death, and then against the odds start a movement that impacts the world. In 2005, David was engaged, had a decent income and many friends. Seemingly, he had "it all." By 2006 (and for the next 5 years), David was homeless, scared, and alone. It was becoming more and more difficult to keep his secret...David was an addict. At his most addicted, he was smoking almost two packs and drinking a fifth of bourbon (the equivalent of 4+ bottles of wine) nearly every day for five years. Five years of struggle, living hand-to-mouth, and a journey that traversed the entire width of the United States from California to Florida and stops in between had lows of sleeping overnight in parks, losing the respect of friends and peers, getting fired after securing the "perfect job" that should have ended his struggles and being in the worst physical shape of his life...ultimately ending up in an Intensive Care Unit fighting for his life. I Finally Quit...And So Can You includes highs of cheating Death (again) from taking him in the summer of 2011, quitting cigarettes and booze, bonding with family, building two income streams, securing his own place to live again and starting a global movement at www.ifinallyquit.com. What really makes his story stand out is how he became known as David "the quitter" Ross. He taught himself web development, wordpress, html coding to create a social media site; uniting people who want to quit something (making excuses, procrastinating, smoking, drinking, etc.) with others who struggle or with people who have successfully quit already. The site already has proof of concept with others quitting already - being inspired, while inspiring others. Speaker, Author, and Coach, David "the quitter" hopes to reach millions throughout the world. Contact him directly at david@ifinallyquit.com.
