About the Book

The basic, fundamental and primordial factor for the entire advancement of mankind right from inventing farming system and reaching upto nuclear energy and in between multifarious inventions technological and industrial, the development factor is what we may call 'The Human Factor'. Let us think the employee in the organization is knowledgeable, talented, and efficient and committed to task assigned to him but the management or manager does not recognize the efficiency of the employee fails to utilize his services, the objectives of the organization are affected. On the other hand, the management is efficient and the employees are not properly trained and motivated the performance on the part of the workers is very poor. As mentioned above they are to be likened to the two parts of the scissors which are to be equally sharp to perform and reach the objectives.
The present study brings out an interesting contrast in between a department of Industries in Government and a private manufacturing organization, Amara Raja batteries. The study analyses in depth the HRD components in both organizations. When we look at the comparative picture here between Government and private concern, we find as outlined in the analysis of the book, the private agency enjoys more of freedom inducting new ideas, principles, recognizing the employee's capabilities and leadership, encouraging effective interpersonal relations and considerable freedom to them in allotting their task. As a contrast this kind of encouragement, recognition motivation and work culture are lacking in the Government sector as brought out in the present study ion respect to the department of industries, Andhra Pradesh.
