About the Book

In general, these development have these major challenges on education aspect: Existing curriculum content and pedagogical methods are being questioned. Students leave school ill-prepared for the world of work and adulthood, high incidence of illiteracy and numeracy, marked gender differences in achievement, curriculum changes without the necessary changes in assessment, untrained teachers at the early childhood, primary and secondary levels. Student under-performance, high levels of student attrition, student repetition of grade levels, harmonization of curriculum and assessment across the region, inadequate policy for recruitment and selection of teachers, lack of systems of certification evaluation and licensing of teachers, unsure about eh place of tech/voc. In secondary schools, the harmonization of competencies, skills for certification of students for the world of work. To conclude, any developing countries major educational challenges have these characteristics: there seems to be no other alternative right now and in the near future for them, but to collaborate in all areas of development utilizing the new technologies and benefiting from those that have begun the change process at the same time, maximizing the resources at their immediate disposal. The question demonstrates how universities have responded the pressures created by the country's economic recession. For example, universities in the UK are already being seriously affected by the short term impact of both economic recession and the crisis in public finances. The more substantial reductions in expenditure now awaited are likely to increase the existing planned cuts to create major existing challenges to which the sector must respond. The UK economic recession and the public funding crisis are closely related, but which are not the same. However, UK universities have been facing some short term challenges, such as changes in student choices and graduate employment, due to consequences of economic recession in UK. Because it can influence UK students feel lack confidence about how the subjects that students wish to study and the kind of employment who find on leaving higher education in the future. Thus, it has close relationship between the UK economy changes in the post-recession world, as well as with the changes in student support and graduate contribution. How other governments and other higher education systems have responded to economic recession in the short term. I suggest governments need to concern why economic recession had caused, it is as part of a long term strategy to build intellectual capital ( knowledge economy). Increasing investment in higher education significant increases in funding for research, a stabilization of the per capita teaching grant and the introduction of higher and deferred fees for undergraduates. Engaging with business in knowledge transfer, skills and internships to universities to promote what subject(s) will be the most popular and successful teaching subject(s) in the univeristy and explaining the reasons why these subjects can attract students to study from internet knowledge exchange channel. These internet teaching promoting method will be possible to solve economic challenges to influence global students to make university choice to study more easily.
