Three years ago, I had this crazy vision on a beach in the Dominican. It was 5am and I had snuck out of our hotel room to meditate before the craziness of family vacay began for the day. For the record, it wasn't this idyllic Insta-worthy scene with the wind in my hair; it was hot, windless, and I was being devoured by mosquitos.
But I sat there, entranced, because I saw something...
In my vision, I saw this gorgeous retail space with seven wishing well fountains. Each well was carved copper and around the rim was the theme of the well written in hundreds of languages. One well was the "love" well, another received wishes for "healing," a third for "abundance" and so on.
People came into our store and threw coins into the fountains and made their wishes. We, as a company, collected up that money and donated it to a nonprofit that represented the specific energy of the fountain.
As I stood there in my vision, surveying what I had made possible, hearing the hypnotic "shhhh" of the water in the fountains, I felt this sense of expansion and purpose. It wasn't an emotion - more a sensation in my body. A feeling of rightness that's hard to describe.
And every penny of the profits from this book - the money you threw into that well as you wished your wish - is going to Operation Underground Railroad. It's a nonprofit whose mission is to end human trafficking, and thus restore hope to the mostly women and children who are sold, abused, and exploited worldwide.
I am living my vision today, three years after having physualized it, and it came to me in this unexpected form - a book instead of a retail space. This is what I most want to teach you - to receive what you truly want even if it shows up in a form you didn't know to wish for.
To recognize what you receive as a stepping stone to your ultimate vision and to nourish yourself with the work so you have the staying power to go all the way.
I acknowledge that the fullness of my vision - that retail space - has yet to manifest. And it took me three years to figure out a stepping stone version of the "become the funnel" facet of the vision.
It is my hope that the book you currently hold will expand your understanding of what's available to you and give you simple, practical, usable tools to bring what you most deeply desire to life.
