About the Book

How is Jesus Christ the Lord of hosts, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting God glorified as "The Lord"? If everyone is allowed to chose for them-selves when and how to ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name, we would end up with every man walking after the imagination of his /her own evil heart, which unfortunately is an abomination to the Lord for He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. Jesus Christ is glorified as the Lord by observing His Sabbaths. For thus says the Lord; "You shall observe My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary I am the Lord" (Leviticus 19:30; 26:2). To insure that the Lord's relationship with His Sabbaths has not been changed or compromised, Jesus Christ said; "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath" (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28). Now since the Sabbath/s was made for man to honor and glorify the Lord, how do we honor and glorify Jesus Christ as Lord on the Sabbath/s? It is stated quite clearly in scripture that; "...there remains then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience" (Hebrews 4: 9-11). Those who are disobedient will try to instill in the mind of others that this is a spiritual rest and not a physical rest, but note carefully that "anyone who enters God's [spiritual} rest is also required to rest from his/her own work just as God did from His. So how did God rest from His work? It is stated quite clearly that, "By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He has done" (Genesis 2:2-3). God not only rested on the seventh day from all the work of creating, but He also blessed that period of time in which He rested and and set it apart and made it holy. He also made this period of time an outward signs to manifest that we are honoring and glorifying Him as the one and only true God. For thus says the Lord; "You must observe My Sabbaths. This will be a sign between Me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy"...It will be a sign between me and the children of Israel forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the Seventh day He abstained from work and rested" (Exodus 31:13, 17). This is a period of time which God has specifically blessed and set aside for His people to have a physical rest and to be refreshed.. For thus says the Lord; "Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed. And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth" (Exodus 23:12-13). This period of time is so holy and sacred not even the dead body of Jesus Christ was attended to during this period. He was hastily placed in a tomb because the Sabbath drew near, and the tomb was not visited again not until the Sabbath was over. The Sabbaths therefore are days ordained by God for His people to come before Him and worship Him. For thus says the Lord; "The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations. " Again He says "These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times." The rationale for the Sabbaths is to give glory and honor to the Lord as being the One and only true God.
About the Author: Lucius Joseph is President of a non profit organization established in the Island of Saint Lucia in the West Indies, and the Founding Pastor of a non denominational congregation. My passion and desire is to help sensitized others of the new birth we all have in the spirit, when we were begotten by Jesus Christ at His resurrection, and to raise our consciousness of His divine power which has been granted to us in all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, that through these we may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature. I do not subscribe to the common practice of peddling the word of God, but supports the principle of, "Freely you have received: freely give." And that, "The worker is worthy of his wage." I also believe that Because of the Lord's awesome power every nation tribe and tongue is required to "Ascribe to the Lord the glory and strength due to His name, to bring an offering and come before His courts to worship Him in the splendor of His holiness, and that all the erth should tremble before Him, because the world is firmly established: it cannot be moved so Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, "The Lord reigns!" I believe that, The call to holiness therefore is priority number one to all who has life. Because Christ died for all, so that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. Our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with; that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Therefore as obedient children, we are not to be conformed to the former lusts, as when we were ignorant. But as He who called us is holy, we also are to be holy in all our conduct, because it is written: Be holy, for I am holy. The will of the Father as summarized by the apostle Paul is this; "Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
