Enter the scene,
Abigail is a woman whom the bible describes as
1 Samuel 25:3
She was an intelligent and beautiful woman,
I would like us to imagine this scenario and propose to all of us, who from now henceforth, 'I dub thee an Abigail' we are intelligent and beautiful women, that the moment when you meet your king David, he will probably still be in the wilderness.
He will probably just have with him, a purpose and a promise.
Your king would not have found;
- A fertile ground where he can plant this seed of purpose and promise,
Mark 4:8
Still, other seeds fell on good soil. It came up, grew, and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.
Luke 9:58
Jesus replied, 'Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head"
Anointed by the Lord, however fleeing from the enemies of this life, hiding in caves and valleys.
As you have just this one encounter with the king;
- Will you be the discreet Abigail who is careful to address the king,
- Will you allow yourself to be the sound that makes his baby leap,
Matthew 13:28
"An enemy did this, ' he replied. "The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
- Will you allow yourself to be the servant that is willing to pull out all the weeds that the enemy has been planting throughout his life so that the seed that God planted in him will flourish?
Like an Abigail;Songs of Solomon 2:15
'Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom
- Will you be there to catch not only the foxes but the little foxes as well that will ruin the blooming vineyard?
- Allow yourself the grace to not only deal with the fruit of a problem, those are the little foxes, but also deal with the root of the issue.
- Stop the little foxes of offense and the foxes of anger.
And at that moment;
Luke 8:24b
Then Jesus got up and spoke sharp words to the wind and the high waves. The wind stopped blowing and there were no more waves.
- Will you be diligent to not address the storm but the waves and winds that cause the storm?
1 Peter 3:4
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight.
- Will you allow yourself to adorn the gentle and quiet spirit?
I welcome you on this journey of learning the Art of Discretion from our sister Abigail.
