About the Book

How to Count Calories Correctly.

Excerpts:
What's more important than calorie counting? There are several things that I believe should be ahead of calorie counting when it comes to attaining optimum health. But one of the most important that very few people know or care about is the bodies PH balance. Proper knowledge of one's PH levels will make everything that has to do with nutrition all fall into place. By focusing on maintaining optimum PH balance as a priority you are forcing yourself to make the absolute best choices in what you put down the hatch to be utilized as fuel. The PH balance is one of the best representations of the body's health status. When PH levels are off this can decrease the body's immune system. The PH scale starts from 0 - 14 with 7 being neutral. Water is considered neutral at 7 on the PH scale. Foods that are Acidic in the body will register at below 7 on the PH scale. And foods that become Alkaline in the body register at above 7 on the PH scale. In simple terms The PH scale assesses the quantity of oxygen present in the blood. If the blood carries high levels of acidity then it loses the capacity to carry oxygen. On the other hand if it borders on the high side of alkaline levels then the blood would be carrying too much oxygen. Fatal ranges on the PH scale are 7.8 on the alkaline side and 6.8 and below on the Acidic side. Healthy levels are between 7.35 and 7.45 as the body should be more Alkaline than Acidic. See how fragile this balance is. If we eat unbalanced foods then we run the risk of either becoming too Acidic or too Alkaline in the blood stream. This is why the easiest way to keep your eating habits in check and see results and changes in your body is to focus on keeping an optimum PH balance and everything else will fall into place. How to restore and maintain optimum PH balance It all depends on what a person's health status is at that moment as to whether they need to restore their PH levels or maintain them. In my book Sleep Fast I talk about some eating styles that I tried that many people would benefit from who have high acidic levels in the body. This is the majority of Americans. Some people believe in eating a high Alkaline diet all of the time. These are vegans and some vegetarians who believe this. I believe that everybody needs to switch things up from time to time as the body is constantly changing. In Sleep Fast I talk about how I know when my body is becoming Acidic and when I should start eating more like a vegetarian or vegan, then I also can tell when I need to eat more Acidic foods such as fish, nuts, and seeds. I believe in listening to my body. It never lies to me. It plays jokes on me but it never lies! Those that need to restore their PH balance usually are on the toxic side of acidic levels in the blood stream from years and years of fast foods, and processed foods with additives and preservatives, and chemical replacements that poison the body. If you live off of meat, dairy products, and anything that can be considered bread then you are putting your body at risk for acidosis. The majority of Americans...
