About the Author: Darryl Littleton began his comedy career writing sketches for "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" on CBS Radio. From there he became a regular at the world famous Comedy Store under the stage name, "D'Militant" for his social and political commentary. This landed him a job as D. L. Hughley's exclusive writer on BET's "Comic View", where Darryl was promoted to writer/producer and went on to pen material for Cedric the Entertainer, Sommore and Don DC Curry. Darryl's television credits include Robert Townsend's WB sitcom, "The Parent Hood", as a recurring performer on Townsend's variety show "Townsend Television" for Fox. Darryl also appeared on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam", Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh", Martin Lawrence's "1st Amendment", Telemundo's "Loco Comedy Jam", Byron Allen's "Comic's Unleashed" and ABC's "America's Funniest People"; he was the Grand Prize Winner. Darryl was also featured in the films, "All Lies on Me" and "Diamond Dawgs". Darryl toured Europe and Asia as a stand-up comedian, performing for the US military. In 2002 he released his critically acclaimed comedy CD, "Am I Lying?!" and was a columnist for "Comedy the Magazine" and "The Humor Mill". In 2006 Darryl won the prestigious Bay Area Black Comedy Competition on its 20th Anniversary and worked as a commentator for NPR. That same year he released his first book, "Black Comedians on Black Comedy", chronicling the history of African-American comedy, which was taught at USC and adapted into the documentary, "Why We Laugh", which made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and aired on Showtime. Darryl served as executive producer. Darryl co-hosted the radio program, "Tuezdae's with D'Militant" in 2012. He toured the nation as a public speaker and produced "Black & Blue: The Laff Records Collection", a compilation of classic party records from Redd Foxx, LaWanda Page, Marsha Warfield, Slappy white and more. In 2015 his sophomore album "Too Raw for Mainstream was released. The prolific talent has published four additional books: "How to Be Funny: The Essential Comedy Handbook"; "Forefathers", the story of the American Revolution told from a black perspective; "Pimp Down: The Rise & Fall of Katt Williams"; and "Comediennes: Laugh Be a Lady", which he co-wrote with his wife / comedienne, Tuezdae Littleton. Darryl Littleton is the Associate Curator of the Comedy Hall of Fame and is an Emmy nominated writer for his work on the documentary, "Joan Rivers: Exit Laughing".
