About the Book

From your TV screen, Daryn Kagan looked like she had her dream job. As a news anchor for CNN, she had a front row seat to the world's biggest breaking news stories. She traveled the world covering everything from war to Oscar's Red Carpet to traveling Africa for two weeks with U2's Bono. But when the network chose not to renew her contract after 12 years, Daryn suddenly found herself without any of the dreams she carried for years. No job. Never been married. Never had kids. In this collection of her columns written for Cox Newspapers, Daryn shares her journey of picking up the pieces. Of creating a life different than she knew to dream of before. It's a story of reinventing a career, finding true love, becoming a mom. Along the way she shares thoughts of her family, her girlfriends who never left her side and her beloved dog, Darla. This is a book for anyone who has suffered loss, needs to put the pieces of your life back together, or is crazy in love with their dog. You'll laugh, cry, and probably shake your head more than once as Daryn shares her messy, honest journey on the way to find that hope is indeed possible.
About the Author: These days, Daryn's hair is usually up in a scrunchie, but you might remember her more than 12 years as an anchor on CNN when a team of professional make up artists cleaned her up on a daily basis. She also reported live from several major events around the world, including the war in Iraq, the September 11th terrorist attacks and numerous presidential elections giving her parents plenty to worry about. Today, Daryn continues her television career as the host of RLTV's "Bookmark," a weekly talk show featuring the top authors of today. Daryn is also a syndicated newspaper columnist for Cox Newspapers. Her weekly, "What's Possible!" column inspires readers in newspapers across the country. She is the creator and host of DarynKagan.com, the web's one-stop destination for uplifting and positive stories fitting the theme, "Show the World What is Possible." Daryn first book, "What's Possible! 50 True Stories of People Who Dared To Dream They Could Make a Difference" can be found online at Amazon.com. Daryn currently makes her home in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, daughter, and her Little Sister from the Big Brother Big Sister program. There's also one rescue dog, one 3-legged cat, and 9 crazy chickens laying eggs and squawking in her backyard. All this means more days than not, she reminds herself that she swapped that glamorous TV anchor life to make dinner, drive carpool, and raise two awesome girls. Oh, and collect fresh eggs. Thank goodness for fresh eggs.
