About the Book

We're not here to Glorify but, only to identify those peer pressure problems and situations in the hoodz. JIM'S- mother is on drugs and this took him from being frightened as a kid forcing him to take life more serious than most others at a young age. Growing up to a teenager that's confident and frustrated at the same time in spite of the outcome. Jim was mentored by the wrong type of people, his environment was filled with peer pressure and he finally gave in. JACKEE- the oldest girl of three conveys her character's true colors in many ways. She succeeds in the difficult task of being serious and a little funny without being too obnoxious. With her attitude she demands respect from everyone around her. To know her you couldn't help but to like her. MIKEE- little brother of Jackee is a funny little trouble maker but, smart at school work. Peer pressure causes him to act out quite often. Being Jackee's little brother was a hard job because he had to live up to her reputation. CECE- she is a shy little sister of Jackee who only wants to make it in life. Not understanding the way her environment embraces negative actions, she adjusts herself accordingly on a daily basis just to keep up. She tries to figure out why we all just can't get along. CHINK- had 2 older brothers along with two younger sisters that he had the job of protecting by all means necessary. The fight game was his thing and he was good at it. Even though he had others to call on for help, he was strong willed and fought others often. PERCY- who is the oldest of six children who is smart enough to start a business, but the wrong type of business. His shoeshine business was just a lie. He ruled with a bully's attitude toward business. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. It's a process and we take it one story at a time.
About the Author: My name is Larry W. Keys and I reside in Va. where I've been telling street stories for over 15 years, to help some young adults get a grip on life. I have over 25 years of recovery from drugs and alcohol. I have also self-published two young adult peer pressure books, (HOODZVILLE) along with one comic book. Now, I have just released; Hoodzville animated rap movie, along with Hoodzville Pedigree. We utilize our street skills, along with my certificate of addiction treatment counseling. Also I've done motivational speaking for kids at risk, and continue to do motivational speaking about young adult peer-pressure. With this under my belt, I bring forth a professional future growth and development awareness. This may help others in their walk through life to help become clean and sober. (From the Negative to the Positive) My stories along with my brother Nicholas the Poet artwork and words of wisdom, from street smarts to role model. Together, we present a tool that's geared toward a sense of urgency for our youth to become a role model in their community. I'm not here to glorify but, only to identify those problems and situations of peer pressure in the hoods. I know firsthand that; "it's one thing to live it, and, another to survive it." Giving hope to those who go through so much at a young age is not an easy task. We refuse to sugar coat those situations of peer pressure that scar kids for life. We practice giving back to the community through the knowledge of, "lead by example." Which is very important in this generation and generations to come. I take the negative in my characters and turn them into positive role models. In order to catch my reader's attention, I reach out and witness to them. I was given a choice to except it or reject it. It took all the power within me to make that life changing decision, and we share our imagination of what it takes for some kids of today to press on pass the negative environment. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it! It's a process and we plant the seed of HOPE.
