Su primera novela, La fruta del borrachero, obtuvo la medalla de plata en la categoría de ópera prima en los Book Awards de California, y fue reconocida dentro del listado de libros recomendados del New York Times. Sus cuentos y ensayos han aparecido en la revista del New York Times, en The Believer y Zyzzyva, entre otras publicaciones. Reside en California.
