In this fictionalized retelling of the traditional Christmas tale, author Reginald Hair treats readers to the backstory of the three wise men who famously followed a star and delivered gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But their story neither started nor stopped there.
In Hair's world, the magic men are living in ancient Babylon when a celestial being appears to one of them, directing him to leave his job and take presents to an unknown baby born in Bethlehem.
Obeying this seemingly crazy command requires difficult decisions that dramatically change his life. Somehow, through twists of fate and faith, he is joined by two friends and a band of gypsies. They miraculously find the foretold treasure and follow a flaming meteorite that moves above and before them.
Their adventure is great as they find the baby Jesus and deliver the treasure. But their story continues as they return home and learn their faith must carry them for the rest of their days.
A magical and imaginative account of one of the most beloved stories of all times, The Holy Magi invites readers of all ages, to find faith, hope, love, and joy in a story that extends beyond Christmas.
About the Author: Reginald Hair is naturally inquisitive. His storytelling reflects his interest in people's motivations and reactions to life's challenges. As a lover of Bible stories, he often considers how he might react to miraculous situations.
As a young boy, Hair wanted to dance like Michael Jackson-though in reality his musical talent more closely resembled that of Fred Sanford.
Hair's family was fairly poor and his father died when he was only nine years old. He overcame bad choices in his youth to spend over twenty years working in corporate America in the fields of computers, emergency management, and telecommunications.
Married for twenty years, Hair and his wife have three wonderful children. He is active in his church's youth and children's ministry. After teaching different aspects of the Christmas story to kids, teens, and adults over fifteen years, Hair was inspired to write The Holy Magi. This is his first book.
