Der junge Kaplan THOMAS KEMPF wird als Seelsorger ins Ostend irgendeiner Großstadt versetzt. Riesige Wohnsilos aus Stahl und Beton und halbzerfallene, abbruchreife Häuser prägen das Stadtbild. Die Menschen, die hier leben, gehören zur untersten Schicht der Bevölkerung. Rockerbanden treiben ihr Unwesen und lehren die friedlichen Bürger das Fürchten. Verbrechen sind an der Tagesordnung. Dirnen haben ihr Domizil in den Hochhäusern aufgeschlagen. Ihre Zuhälter und Rauschgiftdealer mischen kräftig mit. Mit all diesen Dingen wird der Kaplan nun konfrontiert. Statt aber - wie sein direkter Vorgesetzter PFARRER RUDOLF HASLINGER - zu resignieren, krempelt Thomas Kempf die Ärmel hoch und nimmt den Kampf gegen diese Missstände auf. Die Romane (Rote Laterne) wurden Ende der 80er, Anfang der 90er Jahre geschrieben und vom Autor jetzt neu bearbeitet und auf den neusten Stand der deutschen Rechtschreibung gebracht. Es wird also noch mit der guten alten DMark bezahlt, und die Leute stolpern auch noch nicht mit ihren Smartphones in der Gegend herum. Und in den Kneipen darf auch noch geraucht werden.
About the Author: Dieter Adam, Baujahr 1941, war bis zur seiner Kehlkopf-OP im Jahre 2014 ein bekannter hessischer Musiker, der mit seiner Gruppe "Adam und die Micky's" zahlreiche Schallplatten und CDs bespielt und besungen und mit seinem Lied "Die Runkelroiweroppmaschin" eine Art heimliche hessische Nationalhymne (im volkstümlichen Bereich) geschaffen hat. Mit der Schriftstellerei begann er 1974, als er für das Frankfurter Volkstheater von Mama Hesselbach Liesel Christ das hessische Volksstück mit Musik "Das Herz von Frankfurt" schrieb. Danach über 100 Heftromane, Karnevalsbücher, Kurzgeschichten und etliche Ein- und Mehrakter für die Laienbühne, die aber auch von Profibühnen wie Peter Steiners Theaterstadl gespielt wurden und heute noch im Heimatkanal von Sky laufen. Nachdem er mangels Stimme nicht mehr auf die Bühne kann, arbeitet Dieter Adam alte Manuskripte auf und veröffentlicht sie als "books on demand" in eigener Regie.
