About the Book

HOBO PETE and the GHOST TRAIN Nestled deep in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, there's a sleepy little town by the name of Carbon Hollow. Unless you are from the area, you probably never heard of it. After all, nothing of consequence ever happens in Carbon Hollow. However, there was one year the town folks will never forget. In the spring of 1963 when Andy, Matt and Ben, three young boys from Carbon Hollow, began to hear mysterious trains passing in the night. No one else heard the trains, just them...or so they thought. The boys supposedly being the only ones who heard the trains was quite disturbing to the townsfolk, but even stranger was the fact that no tracks ran through Carbon Hollow and every time they heard the trains, mysteriously someone died. Living in a cave outside of Carbon Hollow was an old man that town folks had nicknamed "Hobo Pete." The old man had secrets, many of which he preferred to take to the grave with him. One such secret was of the nightmares that he had of a Ghost Train. Every night, the train with its evil conductor would come to Pete in his dreams. The conductor was determined to have Pete as a passenger, but the old man knew what boarding the train meant, after all, only dead people rode that train. Climb aboard and learn the secrets of Hobo Pete, of how he silenced the Ghost Train, and what became of the boys from Carbon Hollow. All Aboooooaaaaaard an exciting tale enjoyed by all ages. In addition to the cover artwork this book is highlighted with seventeen detailed illustrations in black-and-white by original artist, Henry David Potwin. More of Mr. Potwin's artwork can be found and purchased at www.HenryDavidPotwin.com. The Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train series of books offer an inspirational line of stories for young and older readers worldwide. The tales of hardships and successes offer everyone the chance to learn about Hobo Pete as well as his friend and mortal contact, Ben, as they journey into solving serious and heart-wrenching problems. The initial series consists of six books beginning in Carbon Hollow, a small town where miracles of sorts begin to unfold as the Ghost Train signals impending doom for those who hear it. These books share stories of danger and excitement as well as opening a spirit-world dimension that lends itself to electronic game applications. The locations and levels of play are unlimited. The Ghost Train and its characters are both frightened and victimized by the evil conductor who has the mission of collecting the dead. The battle that Hobo Pete and Ben begin in the first book continues with ever-increasing intensity and mysterious aspects while children and adults alike are drawn into this journey. Since the series shares stories from Topeka, Beijing, Havana, Harlem and other international locations, the books will be published in the corresponding languages as well as English. Printed copies, on-line editions, comic-book distribution, electronic gaming, action figure characters and commemorative trains allow Hobo Pete and the Ghost Train series a powerful entrance into the market. The five-million current, former and related railroad industry markets is the first step into an even larger railroad passenger audience worldwide.
