About the Book

Michael "Beau" Geste é o protagonista (e um arquétipo). O narrador principal é seu irmão mais novo, John. Os três irmãos Geste são retratados como se comportando de acordo com os valores da classe alta inglesa de um tempo passado, e "a coisa mais decente a se fazer" é, de fato, o leitmotiv do romance. Os irmãos Geste são órfãos e foram criados por sua tia Lady Patricia em Brandon Abbas.
