About the Book

Voluminous books are available on History of Psychology. Some students, however, do not have time and energy to go through these volumes and formulate answers for the examination purposes. Therefore, an attempt has been made to present history of Psychology in brief with an eye on important questions which the student is required to answer in the examinations. Questions drawn from different examinations papers have been given at the end of each Chapter. The book covers syllabi of all the Indian universities. It avoids all unnecessary details and confines itself to relevant material only. Those who want to gather detailed knowledge are advised to study not only bigger volumes on schools of psychology but also original works of the famous psychologists. The present book, however, is sufficient to make reader achieve brilliant success in the examination. Therefore, it may be aptly called a text-book on the subject. The book ends with a very brief sketch of Indian psychology since the authors feel that the Indian students must know the contribution of their own scholars to a field of knowledge.
