En este libro presento ante su consideración, amigo lector, un tema polémico que está haciendo historia en el mundo en que vivimos, sufrimos y compartimos. Decidí escribirlo porque se fue convirtiendo en una necesidad existencial en lo más profundo de mi ser. El aborto legal es uno de los más terribles flagelos que afecta a nuestra sociedad. Habiendo leído e investigado suficiente sobre él, concluyo que es una moda cultural contemporánea que, desafortunadamente, se ha impuesto desde hace unas décadas y, ya no podía guardar silencio, debo exponer mis ideas. Por sus características esenciales, he encontrado enormes similitudes entre el aborto y la esclavitud. Ésta, afortunadamente, fue abolida gracias a la valentía de un grupo de hombres de enormes valores morales, liderados por quien fuese probablemente el más importante presidente de los Estados Unidos, Abraham Lincoln. Ellos, en contra de toda adversidad, no desistieron en su empeño de convertir en iguales a aquellos africanos que eran secuestrados en sus hábitats, y, prisioneros de por vida, eran llevados a unas comunidades en las que se les condenaba a existir y morir bajo una crueldad sin límites. Quienes luchaban en contra de la esclavitud no se conformaban con aplicar paliativos, sino que la querían arrancar de raíz aboliéndola. Muchos de ellos dieron sus vidas por esa causa y hoy la historia los recuerda con admiración y respeto. El aborto ha adquirido una dimensión semejante. Los proabortistas utilizan toda clase de eufemismos para lograr sus objetivos, desde llamarse proelección hasta insistir en que el bebé en el vientre materno es un amorfo conglomerado de células con el cual la madre puede hacer lo que quiera como si fuese un esputo que se le atraviesa en la garganta. Otros más osados, consideran esos bebés como un castigo para sus hijas que cometieron un desliz, y ellos mismos las acompañan al sacrificio de la víctima inocente. Es el imperio del relativismo y comodidad humanos antepuestos a la vida de un niño que ha sido engendrado, en la mayoría de estos casos, de manera irresponsable; por consiguiente, su falta es doblemente grave. Los proabortistas han avanzado en su macabro camino de muerte, porque quienes nos llamamos provida nos hemos quedado impasibles en otro tipo de relativismo y comodidad: nuestra pasividad. Los grandes logros de la humanidad no se han alcanzado esperando que alguien actúe por nosotros, sino levantándose y luchando contra las injusticias. Ojalá que esto ocurra más temprano que tarde y no cuando el remedio no sirva para nada.Me he tomado la licencia de presentar a la mayoría de los personajes de este relato en forma intencionalmente difusa, dejando a la imaginación del lector lo que él crea que cada quién merece. Esos personajes tienen vidas casi paralelas que a veces se encuentran para bien o para mal. Pudiera pensarse que son ficticios, pero no es así. Cada uno, conforme a mis investigaciones y hallazgos, está extraído de la vida real.
