Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Sozialpädagogik / Sozialarbeit, Note: 1,3, Ostfalia Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Fachhochschule Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel, Veranstaltung: Klinische Sozialarbeit mit Kindern, Jugendlichen und jungen Erwachsenen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den vergangenen Jahrzehnten hat sich das allgemeine Bild vom Autismus als eine faszinierende Einzelerscheinung und Besonderheit gewandelt. Allen voran zeigten die USA auf, dass Autismus nicht nur eine seltene Entwicklungsstörung ist, sondern vielmehr im Kontext der "developmental disabilities" derzeit am stärksten zunimmt (vgl. Theunissen/Paetz, 2011, S. 9). In Großbritannien wird Autismus vier bis fünf Mal häufiger diagnostiziert als noch vor 40 Jahren (vgl. Bernhard-Opitz, 2006, S. 18, 31). Statistiken des US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention benennen, dass sich die Anzahl der 6 bis 21 Jährigen die Hilfen im Bezug auf Autistic Spectrum Disorders erhalten von 22.664 Fällen im Jahre 1994 zu 193.637 Fällen in 2005 erhöht hat (vgl. Epp, 2008, S. 28). Auch in Deutschland steigt die Zahl der diagnostizierten Fälle stetig an. So geht man heute von einer Häufigkeit von sechs bis sieben Fällen von Autismus pro 1000 Kindern aus (vgl. Herpetz-Dahlmann, 2009, S. 45). Nun kann hierbei neben einem tatsächlichen Anstieg der Krankheits-häufigkeit auch von einem Trend zur "schneller erteilten" Diagnose ausgegangen werden. Zwar gilt Autismus im Vergleich mit anderen Störungsbildern als selten. Nichtsdestotrotz lässt sich ein vielfach erhöhter Bedarf an Hilfen und Unterstützungen verzeichnen, der nicht nur Psychotherapeuten betrifft, sondern auch immer mehr ins Arbeitsfeld von Sozialpädagogen & Sozialarbeitern, Lehrer/Innen, Erzieherinnen und anderen greift. Daher möchte ich mich im folgenden mit dem TEACCH-Ansatz und dem Konzept einer positiven Verhaltensunterstützung zur Hilfe von Kindern und Jugendlichen mit dem Asperger-Syndrom beschäftigen.
