Im Interesse der Arbeit liegt es, den Leser in die Migrationspädagogik einzuführen, um dann zu untersuchen warum eine Integration noch nicht im notwendigen Umfang statt findet. Zu zeigen wie wichtig Heterogenität beim Lernen ist. Lernende und Lehrende aller Schulstufen erleben alltäglich wie sehr Kinder und Jugendliche sich unterscheiden. Diese Unterschiedlichkeit von Schülerinnen und Schülern als Chance für unterrichtliches Lernen zu begreifen, ist in deutschen Schulen noch immer der Ausnahmefall. Homogenität wird als unabdingbare Voraussetzung angesehen und Heterogenität hingegen als Lernhindernis und Belastung. Heterogenität kann jedoch als eines der wesentlichen Konstrukte pädagogischer Praxis angesehen werden. In der Pädagogik stellen Heterogenität - also Ungleichheiten - seit jeher ein dialektisches Moment dar" Heterogenität kann als Ursprung jeglicher menschlicher Sozialisation angesehen werden. Lebenslanges Lernen findet auf dieser Basis statt. Im Laufe der Entwicklung eines Menschen steigt die Heterogenität in Lerngruppen bis auf bestimmtes Maximum an. Heterogenität darf nicht nur als Differenz gesehen werden, sondern muss als Vielfalt verstanden werden. Heterogene Anforderungen sind dabei als übergreifende Konzeption für die Konstruktion von Lernarrangements zu begreifen. Das meint, Schüler und Schülerinnen verschiedenster Abstammung sollen miteinander und voneinander lernen. Die Konfrontation des Anderen hilft blockiertes Denken zu lösen und neue Lösungswege aufzumachen.
