Jahrhunderts "die am häufigsten diskutierte Unterrichtsmethode". (Knoll: 300 Jahre lernen am Projekt, S. 62) Obwohl die Bereitschaft zur Anwendung der Methode gewachsen ist liegt gerade darin auch die Gefahr einer "Ausbreitung bei gleichzeitiger Reduzierung des Konzepts". (Bastian/Gudjons: Über die Projektwoche hinaus..., S. 8) Hier setzt die vorliegende Hausarbeit an mit dem Versuch, Herkunft und Entwicklung der Methode sowie die besonderen Aspekte ihrer Anwendung vorzustellen. Grundsätzlich weißt ein Projekt drei Aspekte auf: Es orientiert sich an den Interessen der Lernenden, ist also schülerorientiert, es behandelt ein tatsächliches Problem, ist also wirklichkeitsorientiert und es hat ein bestimmtes Ziel, ist also produktorientiert. Am Beginn steht ein historischer Überblick, denn auch wenn die Grundlagen des heutigen Projektverständnisses überwiegend auf den Ideen beruhen, die John Dewey und William H. Killpatrick Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts formuliert haben, so greift dies "historische gesehen immer schon zu kurz"(Duncker: Handeln im Dienste von Aufklärung und Demokratie, S. 67), denn Vorläufer und Grundideen finden sich bereits wesentlich früher. Daran schließ sich eine kurze Bemerkung zum Problem der Definition des Projektbegriffs an. Hierauf aufbauend erfolgt ein Blick auf die Merkmale, die Projektunterricht heute erfüllen soll und muss, um als solcher zu gelten, auf seinen Bezug zum alltäglichen Fachunterricht, auf die besonderen Aufgaben des Lehrers sowie lernpsychologische Aspekte de
