About the Book

Young Christians as well as Christians who have a renewed commitment to follow Christ need a plan of action to live the Christian life. That process includes learning how to relate to others, and how to stand for, as well as defend their faith. Christians will benefit from focusing on learning how to live out their faith. In order to accomplish that, Christians need to know how to intentionally take actions that develop growth in their faith, maintain a relationship with God and sustain meaningful relationships with others. They will find it easier to stay on track when they understanding who they are in this new relationship with God, and that they are part of a new family, God's family, this gives direction. It is essential to learn how to overcome sin and learn how to serve. The ultimate reality for the Christian is the joy of learning to live with "other-world" values and motivation in the current world. This book is designed to help develop patterns of thinking and actions that are essential to understanding how to live out the Christian life. Along with the brief teaching on specific areas, there are also recommendations of books, websites and pod-casts that can help you become even more proficient in that area of your Christian life.
About the Author: James Olah, born in Muskegon, Michigan, has been a pastor for over 39 years. The focus of his teaching has always focused on helping people to experience life with higher goals and purpose. This book contains many of the papers he put together over the years to help people grow in their faith. He and his first wife Nancy met while attending the same college in Grand Rapids, Michigan and they were married for 43 years. They have two grown children and five grandchildren. In February of 2012 Jim's wife died of cancer. His interests have led him into many enriching experiences. He has been on the founding board of a graduate school (Moody Theological Seminary) in Detroit, Michigan, and another seminary in Yangon, Burma. He contributed to a bimonthly magazine in India for eight years, written articles for local newspapers as well as many instruction papers for the people of his church. Other experiences include his involvement in radio broadcasting for the oldest church owned radio station in the world, has been a co-host for a weekly cable Television broadcast, Eye Opener in Port Huron, Michigan, and was a panelist on the broadcast television program called "Ask the Pastor". He was in the 1991-1992 edition of Who's Who in Religion. He volunteered in his local Alternative Education School for nine years for at-risk high school students and also worked as a hospice chaplain for three years. He now lives in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan as he continues his writing and he also works with college students in the church he is attending.
