About the Author: Pamelajune (Pj!) Anderson hails from Columbus, Ohio, where her growing-up faith experience was family and church centered. She is a graduate of East High School, Catonsville Community College (Associate in Arts), Johns Hopkins University (B.S.), Howard University Divinity School (Master of Divinity), and United Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). In Seminary, Anderson was the Graduate Assistant to Dr. Evans E. Crawford (Dean of Howard University's Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel in Washington, D.C.), a Benjamin E. Mays Fellow, and President of the Divinity School's Student Council. In 1985, she was a Board for Homeland Ministries Mission Fellow. Fulfilling her first year in the program at Plymouth United Church of Christ in Detroit, the congregation unanimously voted her Associate Pastor (1986-1989). Concurrent, Anderson taught "Black Religion in America" at Mercy College, became a life time member of the NAACP, and a member of the 49 Fine Detroit Alumni, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Anderson is a Black woman of firsts including: Federal Highway Safety Management Specialist; Ordained at the historical Lincoln Temple Congregational Church, Washington, D.C.; and deployed U.S. Navy Chaplain to Operation Desert Shield, Southern European Theater, 1990. Doctor Pj has authored: Heavenly Hints/Earthly Events: A Chat with Churchfolk (1998); Can the LORD BE MY SHEPHERD If I Am Gay? (2000); LADY LEWIS: Her Gloves and Hat - A Memoir of Ohio's First Patron of the Arts (2006); THROUGH IT ALL: A Pictorial and Conversational Memoir of Amos H. Lynch - Ohio's Newspaper Godfather (2007); NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP: On Death and Dying, Loss and Grieving - A Clinical Pastoral Education Perspective, Co-author Father Sebastian Mpango Nzabhayanga (2014); and PRAY-ERS PRAYING PRAYERS (2014). She is weekly presented in the Dayton Weekly, Akron Reporter, Ohio Call Post, and regularly featured in the Michigan Chronicle/FrontPage, North Chicago People's Voice, and Michigan Bulletin. Doctor Pj has provided pastoral ministry to civilians, service members, and military families throughout the United States and abroad including Sicily, Greece, Spain, Germany, Ghana, the Ivory Coast, throughout Italy, and Okinawa, Japan. A 2010 graduate of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Resident Program, East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA, her greatest claim is "I am a recovering prodigal daughter of God."
