About the Book

From the hills and hollows of central Pennsylvania, this collection of TRUE tales of the uncanny will raise the hair on the back of your neck. Meet the headless dog, tour the Bloody Triangle, read about the house trailer complete with the specters of the previous occupants. Welcome a spirit nanny into the house, as did one of the story tellers in this volume. There are more than just spirits on the shelf at Penn's Tavern. How about the ghosts that don't leave at closing time? All this and much more, but let us offer a word of caution for the faint at heart. When you've finished reading this book - keep the lights burning!
About the Author: Beverley Conrad will pretty much believe anything anyone tells her especially if they start out with, "Hey, do you want to hear a story? It's true." She will in turn pass the story on as it was told to her, slathering a little extra jam on the bread where necessary as a way of enhancing details. A musician, artist, and writer for many years, she has published numerous books and has a great deal of writing on the Internet about music and food. Known locally as the Fiddlerwoman, she often combines stories and music into historical and imaginative presentations. Gregory Burgess, best known for his skills as a musician, has published fiction, poetry, and nonfiction in The Journal of Experimental Fiction, neotrope, gestalten, The Seed, Indian-Artifacts Magazine, and Paranormal Pennsylvania. His longer works include the novel TZB-1003 (Salem Swamp Press 2015), the novella A Narrative in Search of Various Heretofore Unwitnessed Wonders (Salem Swamp Press 2016), and the online blog novel Walks with Mway. Beverley and Greg met at Grand Central Station in NYC thirty something years ago. She had a dream where she saw the face of a certain young man and had no qualms about initiating a conversation with Greg when he held the door for her. He looked just like the man in her dream. They both live with the ghost of George Rowe in an old farmhouse in the Bloody Triangle, surrounded nightly by prowling brown panthers and headless dogs. Other books by Conrad include Doggy Tales: Bedtime Stories for Dogs (Delta Books 1980); Kitty Tales: Bedtime Stories for Cats (Delta Books 1980); Willis (Salem Swamp Press 2014); Spot's Spots (Salem Swamp Press 2016) For stories and articles about the fiddle, Bev's main instrument, visit her website at www.fiddlerwoman.com. Print editions of The Headless Dog, Willis, and more can be purchased at www.salemswamp.com
