About the Book

Penny Weaver, living in a shared house to save money, finds her unsavory, sex-obsessed landlord dead the day after Christmas. An unusual snow storm, a housemate undeterred by detective orders from moving his inordinately large number of possessions, certified and uncertified maniac suspects, which include her housemates, the neighbors, and both the landlord's wives, make it difficult for Penny and her Welsh lover to find love-making time, much less solve the mystery. Despite the Sheriff's detectives arresting two innocent people, while keeping Penny in the dark, she collects the key information, and stops the killer when he finally panics.
About the Author: Judy Hogan is a postmenopausal woman who loves to write, farm, think, and laugh. She has one foot in Erik Erikson's Generativity vs Stagnation phase, and the other foot in his Ego Integrity vs Despair stage. She's determined to share whatever she has learned over nearly eight decades and also keep her sense of self strong. We live in a century where our two most urgent issues are: accepting all other people as equally human and taking care of our earth. If we can't learn fast enough, we will lose our planet village. I myself have been in all the basic situations in which my sleuth Penny Weaver finds herself, but of course no murder occurred. Judy's first two published mysteries, Killer Frost (2012) and Farm Fresh and Fatal (2013) were the sixth and seventh written in her Penny Weaver series, and she has now begun a new project of publishing the other thirteen mysteries through Hoganvillaea Books. The Sands of Gower, the first one, written in 1991, came out in December 2015. Judy has a flock of White Rock hens and grows half her food. When her community is threatened by injustice and/or pollution, she's an activist, like Penny Weaver. Her Odysseus has been elusive, but Kenneth Morgan found Penny in her mid-fifties and hangs onto her. Penny is better behaved than her author, but bolder when she's solving crimes. Hogan is also a published poet and non-fiction writer and would like to live to a hundred, if she can, and put many more books into print. She lives and farms in Moncure, N.C., near the Haw and Deep Rivers. Enjoy these books. May they comfort and sustain you in your amazing gift of humanity. judyhogan.home.mindspring.com postmenopausalzest.blogspot.com
