About the Author: Katie Curtin, CPCC, is a theatre artist, author and coach. She loves to help artists, innovators, and changemakers who want to move past the obstacles that hold them back from expressing their brilliance so they can get their creative and innovative projects out in the world. As a modern renaissance woman, Katie has had a colorful and adventurous life. In her early thirties, she quit her steady job working in diesel mechanics. She took her pension fund, enrolled in art classes, and later, took a year to travel in Asia and Australia, apprenticing in mask making in Bali, Indonesia. Since then, Katie has brought joy and creativity into people's lives, through theatre, mask, and puppet making, teaching hundreds of arts workshops and classes across Canada, and internationally. A rebel with many causes, she has done what she can to foster social justice and human rights. Katie had been a proud feminist since she first led a battle in her high school for girls to have the right to wear jeans as well as the boys. Her book, Women In China, published at the age of 24, was translated into French and Swedish, as well as being featured in the Readers Digest International. Katie has developed a unique form of theatrical and healing "rants", which she performs at a wide variety of venues, on topics that range from the deeply personal, to the social, and political. She's the founder and co-host of the online Creativity Café, which features discussions with innovators and artists about creativity and change-making. Katie had her first and only child right before she turned 46, and currently spends her time with family, and friends between Canada and Mexico.
