Una ricerca psicologica e personale che ci conduce in un ambiente dominato dall'angoscia e dall'ansia, dove ogni personaggio si riscopre in una precisa dinamica. Gli stessi protagonisti, Hansel e Gretel, sono rappresentati su uno sfondo scuro che fa risaltare i bianchi e le loro espressioni del viso in un momento preciso della fiaba che la Zamperlin ha voluto evidenziare come il fulcro per questa precisa fiaba.Nella storia Hansel e Gretel vengono anbandonati dal padre, rimasto vedovo, perchè, secondo la matrigna, mangiavano troppo e non ritrovando la strada di casa vengono catturati da una strega che mette all'ingrasso con i dolciumi Hansel ed a fare la sguattera Gretel. Con in astuto stratagemma i due fratelli riescono ad ingannare la strega ed a tornare a casa dal padre. La psicologia dell'abbandono e dello smarrimento è molto presente, ma anche la voglia di tornare a casa. I bambini una volta trovata la casa della strega, fatta di marzapane, pensano di aver trovato un posto dove non avrebbero mai più sofferto la fame, ma la felicità non fa parte di questa storia e subito vengono rapiti senza possibilità apparente di poter tornare alla loro casa. Una storia che ci aiuta ad approcciarci alla vita ed a non demoralizzarci di fronte ai vari ostacoli che ci si parano davanti. I fratellini attraversano l'ingegno e la collaborazione riescono a cavarsela nei momenti bui fino a rritrovare finalmente il padre che li accoglie a braccia aperte.Il lavoro di Sara Zamperlin parte proprio dalla ricerca di persone che abbiano vissuto veramente questi aspetti psicologici e queste emozioni ritraendole fotograficamente e poi attraverso un dipinto. Una ricerca che porta queste persone ad assomigliare, naturalmente, sempre più ai personaggi della fiaba, dove la psicologia fa da padrona mescolando l'ambientazione e le pose in una percezione sempre più reale per lo spettatore. La strega appare sicura di sè, ed è proprio quello che deve rappresentare per essere degna antagonista dell'ingegno creativo. Il padre risulta insicuro e pauroso per il futuro, tanto da abbandonare i propri figli per ben due volte nel bosco, una scelta che probabilmente l'avrebbe consumato sia a livello fisico che mentale nel rimorso dopo la morte della sua seconda moglie. L'ingegno e la volontà alla fine riescono a sovrastare questa crisi d'identità e di smarrimento dei due fratelli ed a far riunire la famiglia. Giacomo Mozzi
