Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Die Diplomarbeit zum Thema „Das Handy - Vertriebskanal der Zukunft" ist in acht Kapitel mit den entsprechenden Unterpunkten gegliedert: Kapitel 1 beinhaltet die Einführung, den Aufbau der Arbeit sowie Abgrenzung und Problemstellung des Themenbereichs. Kapitel 2 behandelt die veränderten Umweltbedingungen, mit denen die Bankinstitute konfrontiert werden und nach denen die strategischen Ziele ausgerichtet werden müssen. Es geht hierbei sowohl um den Mehrwert und die Wünsche des Kunden als auch um den Rentabilitätsaspekt aus Sicht der Banken. Mit Kapitel 3 beginnt der Hauptteil der Arbeit, der sich über die Kapitel 3-5 erstreckt. Hier wird das Vorreitersystem des mBanking, das sog. SMS-Banking, vorgestellt und ein Einblick in die bereits bestehenden Erfahrungen gegeben. In Kapitel 4 wird das WAP-Banking erläutert, angefangen von den technologischen Rahmenbedingungen, über Vor- und Nachteile, bis hin zu einem Ausblick für den Einsatz in der Zukunft. Kapitel 5 besteht größtenteils aus einer Vision über den Einsatz der UMTS-Technologie und erläutert die damit einhergehende Zielsetzung der Institute, die UMTS-fähige Systeme in ihrem Onlineauftritt implementiert haben. Kapitel 6 bezieht sich speziell auf die DePfa Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG und weist eine innovative Möglichkeit auf, wie das Institut zukünftig mBanking im Bereich des Corporate Real Estate Management sinnvoll einsetzen könnte. In Kapitel 7 wird schließlich noch eine Alternative zum Bankzahlungsverkehr gegeben: das paybox-System, mittels dessen Überweisungen mit dem Handy unabhängig von Bankensystemen durchgeführt werden können. Kapitel 8 schließt die Arbeit mit einem Fazit über den heutigen Stand des mBanking und den Zukunftschancen, speziell der weiterentwickelten Technologien, ab.
