Estamos presentando la obra póstuma de Cecília Toledo. En julio de 2015, aceptó la propuesta de realizar una cuarta edición de su libro Mujeres: El género nos une, la clase nos divide. En ese momento intercambiamos ideas sobre si lo mejor era una cuarta edición corregida o directamente un nuevo libro. Ella se inclinaba por la segunda opción ya que sostenía que había pasado mucho tiempo desde 1996, y los estudios posteriores, así como los seminarios y polémicas desarrolladas a nivel del PSTU y de la LITCI, le habían hecho ver que eran necesarias incorporaciones, precisiones, e incluso algunas correcciones. Y coincidimos en que una de esas correcciones se tenía que hacer en el título.Llegamos a esa conclusión a partir de considerar que "El género nos une, la clase nos divide", tomado de la expresión de una luchadora feminista de Argentina, que en su momento pareció una buena síntesis de la tesis central defendida por el libro, podía inducir a la confusión de pensar que el género y la clase tienen igual peso en la opresión. O que, convertido en consigna, algunas mujeres puedan creer que la visión de género es más positiva ya que une, mientras que la de clase divide, lo que obviamente no tiene nada que ver con el contenido que se quiere hacer llegar.La conclusión del libro, es la reafirmación de la tesis con la que venía trabajando: la opresión de la mujer es un problema de clase, no tiene solución bajo el sistema capitalista y solo podrá comenzar a resolverse con el triunfo de la revolución socialista y la destrucción del imperialismo. Y para que no queden dudas de que su inquietud no era la de una investigadora académica y de que su objetivo era ayudar a la comprensión de la realidad de la mujer trabajadora para poder transformarla, finaliza el capítulo con la siguiente frase de Lenin de 1919: La democracia burguesa es la democracia de las frases pomposas, del palabrerío solemne, de las promesas rimbombantes, de las consignas grandilocuentes de libertad e igualdad; pero, en la práctica, todo eso encubre la falta de libertad y la desigualdad de la mujer, la falta de libertad y la desigualdad de los trabaja dores y explotados. (...) ¡Abajo esas mentiras! Abajo los farsantes que hablan de libertad e igualdad para todos, mientras existe un sexo oprimido, existen clases opresoras, existe la propiedad privada sobre el capital y sobre las acciones, existen señores de poses que con sus excedentes de trigo esclavizan a los que tienen hambre. ¡No hay libertad para todos, no hay igual dad para todos, y sí, lucha contra los opresores y explotadores, eliminación de la posibilidad de oprimir y explotar! ¡Esa es nuestra consigna!En esta, su última obra, Cecília Toledo se muestra tal como vivió la mayor parte de su vida consciente, como una luchadora por los derechos de la mujer y por el socialismo, como marxista convencida, que confía plenamente en las luchas de la clase obrera y en el triunfo de la revolución.Los que apreciaron la lectura de "El género nos une, la clase nos divide", disfrutarán de Género y Clase, que enriquece las elaboraciones del primero y que está escrito con el mismo estilo claro y ameno.Por último, Cecília siempre decía que las discusiones, las polémicas, las opiniones, a veces coincidentes y otras veces contrarias que recibía de las compañeras de la LITCI, era lo que había posibilitado la realización de su primer libro, de la misma forma que le hicieron ver las debilidades que este tenía y que era necesario corregir. Estoy segura de que a ella le hubiera gustado que este libro fuese dedicado a todas esas compañeras.
