La tolérance à la salinité et le polymorphisme moléculaire du riz ont été analysés en utilisant une population de ségrégation F3 CSR10 (indica tolérant au sel) x HBC19 (Taraori Basmati, premium traditional Basmati, sensible au sel). Sur les 38 amorces ISSR de l'ensemble d'amorces UBC #9, 26 amorces ont été sélectionnées sur la base de l'amplification de bandes nettes et claires et ont été utilisées pour une analyse plus poussée des marqueurs moléculaires. Les 26 amorces ISSR ont amplifié un total de 149 bandes. En moyenne, 5,7 bandes par amorce ont été détectées et le nombre de bandes par amorce variait de 4 à 11. La taille globale des produits PCR se situait entre 200 et 3530 pb. Sur les 149 bandes, 89 étaient mono-morphes et 60 étaient poly-morphes. Quatre bandes sur les 149 bandes étaient présentes uniquement dans les plantes F3. Les bandes polymorphes amplifiées avec les amorces 825, 826, 836, 849, 853, 848 et 866 étaient plus fréquemment présentes (jusqu'à 90%) dans les génotypes tolérants au sel par rapport aux génotypes sensibles au sel. Ces bandes polymorphes ont plus de chances d'être liées aux gènes / QTL de la tolérance à la salinité et devraient être la cible d'études ultérieures.
