About the Book

Before Guru Nanak there were six philosophies called Khat Darshan. He observed that because of these philosophies people were divided into four castes and social classes. Due to lack of spiritual knowledge and wisdom (Giyan) people were exploited by priests by preaching worthless rituals. They were suffering from injustices, oppression, and exploitation by rulers and priests. Guru Nanak then embarked upon his missionary work of spreading spiritual knowledge and wisdom (Gurmat) to people of different religions, cultures and countries in their own language and culturally acceptable ways. Though Sikhism (GurDarshan) is totally different from Hinduism (Khat Darshan), still Hindus believe that Sikhs are an offshoot of Hinduism called Kesadhari Hindus. Britishers and Hindus were in cahoots to prove it. Misinterpretation of Gurbani and Sakhies are part of that conspiracy. Gurbani is written in poetic form with no word meaning, but deep spiritual teachings. In Gurbani Gurus first described how philosophy of other religions is used to mislead people, and then divulged Gurmat point of view either in Rehao line (Tuk) or and last lines of the Shabd. Misinterpretation of Gurbani is giving more importance to the word meaning and description of other philosophies as Gurmat, and giving no emphasis to what Guru is trying to explain. This along with wrong stories (Sakhies) of the Gurus has been happening for centuries. The situation now is even worse because Jathedars of Takhts are appointed by politicians, who then have to issue edicts as suggested by their political masters. Deras and Baba culture further complicate the situation. They are supported by politicians and preach Gurmat as per their instructions. They give more emphasis on Akhand Path and respect for Guru Granth Sahib which is only for Puja. No emphasis is given on reading and understanding Gurbani. There is lot of preaching going on in Gurudwaras, preaching gatherings (Smagams) and social media but Sikhs are still indulged in meaningless rituals in Guruwaras and in their daily life which Guru Nanak condemned and wanted Sikhs to shun. Most Sikhs are not even aware of basic doctrines of Gurmat. They still believe in doctrines of Hinduism and other religions. Though Sikhs call themselves not Hindus, but their rituals and life style is not as prescribed by Guru Nanak, but of Deras, Babas and other religions. All such actions are justified as faith, which for them is more important than real Gurmat. Any attempt to rectify and preach real Gurmat is met with forceful rejection and such preachers are threatened with their life, court actions and called Un-Gurmat. There are many real preachers (Pracharaks) who are preaching real Gurmat through social media, preaching gatherings (Smagams), books and other means. This book is an attempt to answer most of the questions which people ask as per real Gurmat and to give spiritual message of Guru Nanak. Before Guru Nanak God was perceived as a judge who punishes by sending souls to hell or reward by sending them to heaven according to their Karma. God resides in another planet and have staff of demigods and angels. In Gurmat Creator God is the Virtues in Guru's spiritual teachings (Bani), and abides in everyone. Accepting will of God and loving Its Creation, is to love God. There is no heaven and hell after death. The benefits/punishment of good and bad deeds is rewarded in this life as blissful state (Heaven on earth) and unhappiness miserable life (Hell on earth). There is no Chitr Gupt who will present our report card to Dharamraj for judgement after death. We are judged every moment of our life by our consciousness (Dharamraj) and suffer a miserable (Hell) or peaceful life (Heaven) according to our deeds and obtain Mukti while living. This book covers topics like who is God, Atma, Are we puppets in hands of God, Does God fulfill all our wishes, Is death time predestined, Anand, Simran with relevant Shabds from Guru Granth Sahib.
