About the Book

"FROM DALLAS TEXAS, A FLASH APPARENTLY OFFICIAL, PRESIDENT KENNEDY DIED AT 1-PM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME, 2-PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME, SOME 38 MINUTES AGO!" Now the sequence of events that took place that afternoon began with the Secret Service Agents approaching the Vice President, Lyndon B. Johnson to inform him of not only the President's death but that he might be the next target. Now as the Secret Service laid out a plan to safely transport the Vice President back to Love Field, a Civilian used a Squad Car's radio to let dispatch know that a Dallas Police Officer had been murdered in the Oak Cliff District! Now that tragedy started when a Dallas Police Officer stopped a man walking down Tenth Street. Now it is not known whether that individual fit the broadcast description of the suspect at large in the President's assassination, or did that Policeman see that man reverse directions on seeing the patrol car? Now when that suspect brutally murdered that Police Officer and fled that left the Dallas Police in a lurch with two murders to solve in less than 45 minutes! Now back in Parkland Hospital, Pathologist, Doctor Rose blocked a basement hallway in an attempt to prevent a small group of Secret Service Agents and the First Lady from spiriting the body of the late President out of that Hospital! Now Dr. Rose was attempting to explain it to them that by Texas Law a complete medical autopsy-when he was shoved up against the wall and held there so that the other Agents could pass behind them and take the President's body out of that hospital! Now as the late President's body was being moved to Love Field by Secret Service Agents. There was a break in the case of that Police Officer's murder when the ticket taker of the Texas Theater phoned in to tell the Police that somebody had just entered into the theater without paying! Now right before she hung up she mentioned that this man appeared to be running from something! Now that made the dispatcher believe that this might be the suspect at large in that Policeman's murder! Now when that was radioed out a lot of Police officers responded to that call who quickly sealed off all theater entries and exits. Then when the Police were ready the house lights were raised even as that movie still continued to play on the screen, but moviegoers were not watching that movie but a Police Officer escorting a man out onto the stage who then identified a suspect in that crowd of moviegoers! Now after pointing that suspect out in the back rows of that theater! Detective McDonald approaches that suspect ordering him to his feet! But when he sees that suspect is drawing a revolver out of his waistband Detective McDonald bum rushes him and takes possession of that revolver arresting that suspect who was immediately transported downtown to be booked for Capital Murder. Now when Detectives started to interrogate this suspect, the Chief of the Homicide Bureau returns to issue out an arrest warrant for the missing employee from the Supervisor's role call of employees known to be at work that day in the Texas Schoolbook Depository only to find out that suspect had already been arrested for the murder of that Police Officer! Now back on Love Field, Secret Service Agents wanted to get the Vice President out of Dallas as quickly as possible! But those plans were thwarted when the Vice President boarded Air Force One instead of getting back on-Air Force Two that had brought him there! Then the Vice President thwarts the Secret Service's plans again until the late President's body could be brought on board Air Force One. Then the Vice President delays that departure again until a Federal Official could be brought out to swear him in as the next President of the United States. Now when Dallas Federal Judge, Sarah T. Hughes was escorted onboard Air Force One she administers the Oath of Office swearing-in Lyndon B. Johnson as the 36th President of the United States!
