Each guided prompt is made up of four pages. The first three outline your activity and has space to record your findings in an informative creative manner so you and your child can reflect on the activity and learning experience, the final page is allocated for additional notes and observations to be made directed by you and your child, allowing for personal direction and building an autonomous approach to your child's learning. The structure of the book is ideal a learning tool for a school project, a personal project or as a home education resource perfectly.

Designed to be suitable for children of primary school age (6-11) this Journal is ideal for fostering a young child's love of nature and their natural surroundings and is produced in a manner that it can be used anywhere at any time of the year. It can be dipped into or used weekly as an activity to continually nourish a child's natural desire to explore their surroundings.

Planning your activity

Resources you may require to get started:

-A range of fabrics. These could be purchased, remnants from a parents sewing box, old clothes or old bedding.

-Sewing needles, pins and threads, embroidery needles, embroidery hoop and threads, wool and embellishments such as sequins or buttons.

-Scissors - A reasonable pair of all purpose scissors may suffice.

-Ruler and tape measure.

-Paper to create patterns or commercial patterns: -Many can be found online for free in PDF form.

- A sewing machine would be an advantage, but not a necessity.

-An eager, creative mind and approach to the potential masterpieces you are going to create.
