About the Author: Penny Hallett has more than 40 years' experience in journalism, public relations, and marketing. She spent the majority of her career in the public sector, where she imagined and brought to life many national, regional, and local awareness-raising campaigns and events, several of which won prestigious industry awards.
She started fundraising when she was 10, writing a magazine and selling it to friends and classmates to raise money for disadvantaged children. The free sweet with each copy boosted sales enormously!
Penny is currently working as a volunteer with the St Michael's Church Heart of the Community project. The project aims to raise £5.5 million to build a new church and community centre, restore the 14th century church, and refurbish the Old School Rooms at Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire, UK. All royalties from the sale of this book are being donated to the project.
