About the Book

In a time when honest news can only be heard from comedy hosts, is it any wonder that BillyBob and Myrtle, two aging hippies from the sixties team up with the modern day Paul Revere, Frank Delucchi. Inhabiting both wealth and a conscience, Delucchi Lives in a McMansion RV transmitting the real news from a small briefcase at three thousand feet in a red ultralight. He leaves our couple with a broadcast unit, a taste for flying and the ultralight. While focusing their pirate signal over Las Vegas, BillyBob and Myrtle barely survive a crash into a hotel swimming pool, dodge the police as they flee, then turn themselves in to the small town Sheriff Perkins of Whiskey Flat, California. Hot on the trail of those renegade roadcasters, Homeland Security leaps at a chance to catch Delucchi by leaning on our two befuddled hippies only to discover that Sheriff Perkins and his entire county is serious about their pledge "to serve and protect" their inhabitants from all danger, especially an overly oppressive government. A classic David and Goliath struggle ensues where sleight of hand and intellect saves the day instead of brute force.
About the Author: Born in San Francisco in 1948, Nik C. Colyer lived his first twenty-three years in the East Bay. In 1974, Colyer moved to Nevada City in the Sierra Nevada Mountains where he spent his first snowbound winter living in the library of a hippy commune without electricity where he devoured fiction classics such as Steinbeck, Ken Kesey, Herbert and hundreds more. Inspired by such greats, in 1975 he revisited a childhood longing, picked up a pen and the seeds of a writing career emerged. It took another six years before he started his first novel, "Hunters Field" and twelve years to complete that prodigious project. Once he felt the success of completion, he dedicated more of his life as a novelist. Colyer gets up every morning at 4 a.m. to write. Using that early morning method, to date, he has completed sixteen novel manuscripts, two books of poetry and three screen plays. Although his work is fictional, Nik's unending curiosity about the relational dance between men and women adds humor and quirkiness to the content of his writing. Although writing novels is his first love, he continues his romance with sculpture and invention. This and other stories are covered in-depth on his website: www.ChannelingBikerBob.com
