About the Book

Revised and expanded second edition.

Is this the second time humankind has evolved on earth? Is there a loop, and where is it leading us?
If you knew that life on earth would end in two years, leaving not a single plant or animal alive, leaving no trace of life at all on the face of the earth, what would you do?
If you knew that life would begin all over again, what would you like to leave the new generation and how?
The story begins 3 million years ago, with Dinkenesh and her daughter. The book ends -though the story does not- 2 million years from now, with Hasnen out in space, conducting an experiment to determine how the universe will end. It also reveals the true nature of Halley's Comet.
Between these two, there is
Peto, who tries to save his wife from the scorching rays of the sun;
Amma, who wants to protect her people from the approaching glacier;
Tarumsis, a woman priest who goes after Moses to save her temple;
Anina, the right hand of Paulus who fights to stop Barnabas;
Katharina Kepler, who sets out to help Young Osman on his mission to change the history of Europe;
Qin Alexia Temirova, who is the first World Leader;
and Kayra, who plays a big part in carrying humankind to a new planet.
Behind all of them is the mysterious priesthood of Ra-Tarhuna.
In The Guardian & The Loop, Ismet Yesil takes the reader on a sweeping tour of history and the future, linking the past and destiny of humankind to the very structure of the universe. The novel comes with a theoretical section that discusses its various astrophysical underpinnings.
The Guardian & The Loop is a revolutionary approach to the structure of the novel as well as the structure of the universe.
Some interesting questions raised and answered by the author are:
What is the Guardian, responsible for everything in the universe?
What is the language used by all the brains in communicating with each other without our knowledge?
Why is the speed of light not constant?
What happened before the Big Bang?

About the Author: Ismet Yesil was born in Turkey in 1966. He became in-trigued with the world of astrophysics at an early age, and was especially puzzled by why the speed of light was a constant, and where the photon got its energy. He started creating theories to explain these phenomena, and soon he had come up with a whole set of interconnected theories. It only remained to put them in the context of a story, and The Guardian & The Loop was thus born. Ismet Yesil is married and has a daughter. He lives and works as a businessman in Istanbul.

from Kirkus Review:

"an intriguing premise, ...bold speculation and big ideas..."
"ripe with speculation into an array of subjects-the life and death of Jesus, the discovery of the Higgs boson, the manipulation of dreams..."
"fascinating section that explores some scientific concepts examined in the story..."
