Cinco siglos después, más allá de cierto grado de postergación, la poeta Gladys Mendía, (Venezuela, 1975), impregnada por la solvencia estilística y los torbellinos enfáticos logra establecer un místico código para aproximarse a su adorado ícono, para esto ha vertido sus lágrimas, ha disuelto los fantasmas del cansancio, y ha evocado a la santa para atrapar una zona implosiva de su mundo interior. Con esta nueva propuesta la autora de El alcohol de los estados intermedios, cansada de lo somático del laberinto, anticipa su extraterritorialidad para salirse del abismo, de las profundas caídas, y ambientarse en una contextualización con lo sagrado, con el absoluto. Pasado este trance, arribamos al tercer peldaño: Combates, intersticios de la Trinidad, en esta ofensiva se limpian las malas hierbas del corazón, es la jornada de establecerse de rodillas, de purificación absoluta. De humildad soberana. Seguimos silenciosos y ganamos el cuarto nivel. Peldaño de la Entrega, de la materialización del espíritu, corporeidad con el Uno, estado amorfo de la materia en bruto que se descompone y el espíritu se libera. Luego descansamos y entramos airosos en el quinto recinto. Peldaño de los tesoros y deleites, de los placeres de los Sufíes, de los toques, de los regalos, de la música, y el gozo. De modo compasivo ingresamos al sexto: umbral de las heridas, retorno al sacrificio, manera de recordar que el dolor es una asignatura pendiente en nuestras vidas. El dolor nos facilita comprender los designios, ante él se contrasta el resultado de todas las cosas. Actos y consecuencias. Causas y efectos de nuestro inconsecuente devenir. Posteriormente ganamos el último peldaño: Franja del Encuentro, de la cercanía, recámara íntima para el amor, para el bien, para gravitar emparejados con nuestros semejantes, Era finisecular para la imitación de Cristo. Temporada para la seguridad y la confianza, para resumirnos en el perdón que el amor enhiesta. Para el perfeccionamiento, y el progreso humano. Gladys adquiere armonía, sale del averno, se dispara sola, se libera, desde lo alto del castillo se ha echado a volar. Ha alcanzado la gloria, divisa una ranura, un inequívoco espacio para alejarse de las cosas mundanales, con su simple destrucción adquiere el Satori, iluminación súbita. Llega a la raíz, se evapora en la estrella resplandeciente de la mañana. Después extraña cosa, la imagen se propaga en imagen; decanta su logos.
