About the Book

The dreams of a young black girl becoming a writer, swiftly, chipped away by disbelief. Shadelle has a journey to take in her life. But the people closest to her won't even help her in her pursuit of writing career. Shadelle goes throughout her life plaguing over past relationships. In which most left emotional trama and scars. The bad out weighs the good unfortunately she has a nervous break down. What shadelle once believed was attainable is the very thing that she keeps fighting to have. Be it love, money, or respect. The desire to have all three would be and stay a dream of hers in her young tortured soul.

In order for her to let go of her demons and hardships. She has to change what the future lies ahead. Although she does not know what that is. She has to make sense of something different in her life besides jealous bitches, assholes, that want to use her for sex and her unsupportive family and friends. In which uses constructive critisizm so she can lighten up and toughen up. Life is hard. You have to fight for your acceptance, respect, and understanding. Shadelle later learns about the journey she has to stick to in life. The straight for sure path of higher education, real love, and realistic goals. May just be too straight and she cannnot measure up to everyone's step by step expectations.

Will she win or lose in her saga of pain, despair, dishonesty, distrust and depression? Will she over come her opstacles or fall by the way side? So many believed she would be dead by the time she was 17 years old. Some believed she would grow out of her phase of dreaming to become a writer. "Get a job or go to school." her mother told her. Who can she count on now? Her boyfriend that can't get over his drug dealing ex girlfriend or herself. Shadelle answers and tells a drama filled story that is sure to be an entertaining, suspenseful, and gritty. Green Pastures is a story of wanting to much to soon. Then in a split second the dreams you desired are broken. Life is a struggle. Dreams are meant to be broken.
About the Author: Shadelle Fields is a native of Queens, NYC. She started writing poetry at age twelve. She wrote an anthology of poems called Crying Leaves. In 2005, it was published. A few years later came her first full-length story, her biopic of being a poet. It is her true story of being an unknown talent that unfortunately never gets the recognition she thinks she deserves. It was a contrast to the world of college where she was an honor student currently majoring in journalism and print media. Her passion for writing has and will not slow down.
