About the Book

Marcia LeQueux is Boatnerville, Mississippi's dynamic newspaper publisher, who owns The Green Monkey Press, an up and coming newspaper in South Benton County. Life seems to be going very well for the young businesswoman until she is beaten, gang-raped and left for dead, after having published a number of controversial articles. But, Marcia doesn't die and is soon back on the scene - trying to figure out the who, what, when, where and, most definitely, the why, regarding her rape while daydreaming of revenge - amidst the lush, late summer landscape of northern Mississippi.
About the Author: Kendall Hawkins Goode is a sixth generation Mississippian, who has served as an editor for weekly newspapers in the Magnolia State for nearly 25 years. His last newspaper position was at the DeSoto Times-Tribune, in Hernando, Mississippi. He retired from the newspaper industry altogether in 2011 after having received numerous honors and awards for his work. He also worked at various other newspapers and publications in Mississippi, including those in the towns of Holly Springs, Ripley, Senatobia, Booneville and New Albany. Since retirement from a longtime career that was a hobby as well as his livelihood, Goode and his aging father spend their spare time visiting and riding the back roads and byways of their native, beautiful, rural north Mississippi. The author won his first writing competition when he was 12 years old, and from that time on, was inspired to write as a career. His honors have predominately been for writing features, editorials, a general interest column and investigative articles. In 2009, he received the prestigious Bill Minor Award, which was awarded for Investigative Journalism by the Mississippi Press Association, in competition with all other newspapers in the state. He also received many awards for a weekly column he wrote for years called "Goode News". His faithful canine companion, 'Chen-Chen', was often the topic of Goode's columns as he religiously reported her humorous antics. Numerous articles have also been published online by Goode. Among his many published works is a coffee table book of historic photographs, featuring a neighboring north Mississippi county. He is currently working on his third novel, "A Hot Time in Peppertown", which will feature more characters from the fictional town and surrounding area of Boatnerville, Mississippi.
