About the Author: Sam Yoonsuk Lee has a long and respected history of supporting global CSR endeavors. Prior to founding InnoCSR, he consulted for Trilogy China in the automotive industry and worked in Private Sector Fundraising at UNICEF. In addition to his role as InnoCSR CEO, Sam joined ABIS (The Academy of Business in Society) as Asia Director in 2012, leading the Asia arm of a global sustainability organization. Sam holds an MBA degree from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) where he also founded the annual Being Globally Responsible Conference (BGRC), Asia's first and largest student-organized CSR conference and a BA from Korea University. As an accomplished business leader and expert on CSR and Sustainability, Sam has published many articles and research works including his most recent contribution, World Guide to CSR (2010), a reference manual containing insight on region-specific CSR strategy. Furthermore, Sam publishes weekly columns on China Philanthropy Times and has been leading the annual Fortune China CSR Ranking research in China. Sam sits on numerous companies and organization's board of advisory and also is a highly requested speaker on China and Asia-related CSR topics at conferences and forums worldwide.
Professor Bala Ramasamy is Professor of Economics at CEIBS since 2006. Before joining CEIBS, Prof. Ramasamy was Professor of International Economics and Business at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia. Previously, he was on the Faculties at Massey University in New Zealand and University of Macau. He has been teaching at higher institutes of learning since 1988. He has had wide experience teaching students of different backgrounds and culture in mainland China, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Ghana and the UK. Prof. Ramasamy received his Ph.D degree from University of Leicester, UK and his Master of Social Sciences from the University of Macau, both in Economics. Prof. Ramasamy's research interest focuses on Asian economies, Foreign Direct Investment, Corporate Social Responsibility and International Business Strategy. His research has been published in Journal of Business Ethics, World Economy, Journal of World Business, Journal of World Investment and Trade, Journal of Business Research, among others. His views are regularly sought by the media. He has been interviewed by CCTV, Bloomberg, AP News, Al Jazeera, Channel News Asia etc. His comments have also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, China Daily, Global Times and other newspapers around the world. Outside academia, Dr. Ramasamy runs leadership and moral empowerment programs for young teenagers.
Jay Hyuk Rhee is Professor of International Business/Strategy at Korea University Business School. He received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Korea University Business School, he served on the faculty at San Jose State University. He is a director of the Asian Business Center and served as a director for the Executive MBA (E-MBA) program at Korea University Business School. He also serves as a director of the Center for Social Enterprise, the Institute of Sustainable Development at Korea University. He has received many honors and awards for excellence in teaching, research and professional service, as well as invitations to give seminars to Korean multinational corporations including Hyundai and Kia Motor Companies, Samsung Electronics, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Hanwha Group, Hyundai Mobis, Amore Pacific, Kookmin Bank and SK as well as research and education institutions including Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade, Korea Banking Institute, Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute, Samsung Human Resources Development Center and SK Academy. His research interests include the strategic management and international expansion processes of multinational firms, corporate social responsibility (CSR), global strategy and entrepreneurship. He has published many refereed articles in leading U.S., European and Korean academic journals.
