About the Book

Parenting can keep you on your toes. It can challenge your sense of effectiveness. There is a source that underwrites effective parenting and that is learning how to influence a healthy belief system in your children. Our desire to look at our parenting styles and interactions with our children may be influenced by recent scientific discoveries of anatomy and physiology. Our ability to now peer at physiological structures, such as cells and DNA; and watch how these structures respond to environmental influences informs us on how individual belief and behavior are shaped within our children. Fundamentally, it is the child's personal assessment of self, the experienced identity which shapes the child's personal belief system. Whatever that belief system is, it is from that source that the child's thoughts and behaviors are organized. The Science of Change The study of Epigentics, Neuroplasticity and Neurogenisis has allowed us to peer inside our physiology to see how our interactions effect cellular function. Each of these disciplines demonstrate that every person is capable of psychological and physiological change. Our interactions with our children is shaping how our children come to view themselves. We act as ongoing genetic engineers throughout their developing years. This book helps parents understand how to influence their children's sense of self, so that children will become more responsible for their lives, become self-motivated, and become children that all parents dream of! The entire book helps parents understand why what they do leads to the outcomes they see. Most importantly, it provides the instruction on how to interact with their children to get the outcomes they want. Some of the material is presented with a spiritual integrative approach, because as the author believes, "It doesn't matter the source of truth. Truth is truth. Today's current research in many facets supports what has been spoken through religious texts for centuries."
About the Author: Larry Bradley completed his undergraduate work at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in Psychology and holds a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University (HIU). Larry says that he chose HIU because the training he received reflected his core values in integrating what the latest research demonstrates as well as promoting time-honored principles. Larry has extensive experience in working with youth and families struggling with significant and ongoing stress. He has worked as a therapist in residential settings dealing with issues related to neurobiological complications, attachment issues, and family dysregulation. Later, Mr. Bradley served as the Executive Director for a Youth Residential Program in Lund, NV. Currently, Larry has a private practice; teaches "Individual and Relationship Science" at the high school level, is the Director of Neurofeedback at the Neurofeedback Centers of Utah, and hosts a weekly radio show called, "It's All in Your Head." Larry brings his understanding of psychology, family systems theories, and brain research into a unique approach that helps people live life more abundantly. His study of the scriptures has allowed him to see how research and spiritual truth are sending the same message and utilizes that information into a practical approach of improving self-concept, and building more meaningful, beneficial relationships.
