About the Book

Gran'ma Minnie, an elderly lady living in the deep South, dispenses practical wisdom using Christian principles from the comfort of her front porch. This is where her visitors come to bring their problems for Gran'ma Minnie's practical solution. As Gran'ma Minnie describes it, "Some call me the alpha an' omega of wisdom. It wasn't that I know everythin' there is to know. I just seem to know all that you need to know when you want advice. That always seemed to be enough. M' friends don't stop to learn about Plato or Aristotle or Tolstoy or Robert Frost. No one comes to me for that, though I have come across a few books that I have found helpful. M' visitors come to solve a problem an' I invariably have the solution." If you have a problem or know of someone with a problem similar to what is reflected in Gran'ma Minnie's Wisdom, chances are very good that the answer will appear before you as you read.
About the Author: I smile in reflection over the many years of self-learnin'. I never live in the past. The past was only a tool to help with problems in the present. Only the present mattered. All else of bygone days were so many events to assist others in dealin' with life as they now found it. Now this here country I come from I could go on an' on tellin' you all about it an' how people live in it. But I'm not goin' to do that 'cause it would sound right borin', at least it sure would around here. Let me just say I've been livin' for more years than I can count in a small town in Louisiana where most of the folks are planters an' harvesters an' foresters an' lumbermen an' just about anythin' you can think of that is capable of bein' grown in hot, humid climate like we have in this here delta region where nearly anythin' can grow if you just give it a little coaxin'. Now some folks who've been raised up North where it gets cold in the winter can't abide by the damp an' humid conditions that we got here near all year around. But this here is what we call home just like it is up North, the only difference is we've got a different bunch of people doin' a different sort of livin' in different livin' conditions. But it's still life an' life keeps goin' on no matter where you live or where you might move off to. What I mean to say is, the stories you're about to read are about just plain folks, strugglin' like everybody else is to keep their heads above water, tryin' the best they can to do the good Lord's will, even if they haven't the slightest idea what that might be. Nonetheless, they keep on tryin' an' I keep on helpin' wherever I can. It's what the good Lord has given me to work with an' so I use whatever guidance that comes through that might help the one in need.
