About the Book

The Kingdom of Cerona is in danger! The Adviser, Zakahar, has a plan to detain Cerona and return what was once lost to the dragon God, Adieunoir. The daughter of the most infamous rebels, Nora, has made it her duty to protect the prince from the impending chaos. However, Nora's task seems to get harder every time she turns around. Mryddren, once a father to her, turned out to be someone she didn't truly know, and she is literally thrown to the dragons.Near death, Nora discovers and uses a power that has been hidden inside of her the whole time; the ability to talk to dragons. If Nora, Eiji, and friends use this power to defeat the Dark mages, Blood mages, djinns, and dragons in their path can they defeat the real threat: Adieunoir?
About the Author: Emery Avery Knight. I grew up chasing dragons and saving princes. I had more fun day dreaming and sleeping than paying attention in class. My upbringing was pretty natural-I think anyway. I have lived my whole life in a small town in Indiana. My mother passed away when I was three, my father wasn't around to care for me, so my grandparents were there to take me in. On the playground I romped around with my friends pretending to ride dragons. When I was in elementary I had to cope with depression and ADD. The medication I was on made socializing with other kids difficult; but thanks to my friends and family, in real life, and online that helped me, I was able to come up with the foundation for Dragon Names. In high school I finally decided to actually start writing The Gracious King. It was intended to be about Emmett and his struggles; but thanks to my dearest friend, Elera Jennings, the story became about more. I don't think I would have written about Nora or Eiji's heroics without him. Elera Jennings. I grew up in a small place in the middle of farmland and forest. This setting allowed me all the room I needed to create fantastical worlds. I was always the odd one out growing up. I often retreated to the imaginary world for solace, when I had no one else to confer with. I would create laws and societies based on what I had learned in the history books that I devoured in the school library. I never had a lot of friends growing up, so I usually kept to myself. I wouldn't waste my time with other people, and I firmly believed no one on this planet would be able to understand me or the ideas that rattled around in my head. That was until I met my closest and dearest friend Emery Knight. We started creating stories and I finally found someone I could connect with. I learned just as the characters learned in this story and others, that one cannot do everything alone. That living beings aren't meant to function by themselves. To me Dragon Names can touch a place in anyone's heart. It shows that no matter what you face, as long as you stay strong and have at least one good friend, you can accomplish anything you are motivated to do; even despite all the evils in the world. I am so happy that with the joint efforts of Emery and myself, we were able to make a little piece of us come to life.
