About the Book

Everything vibrates, exudes, threatens and is transmuted in this fascinating collection of poems by Jessica Sequeira, not the first work by this poet, translator and narrator, and initially written in Spanish, self-translated into English, then translated back into Spanish by a Chilean poet. Like "endless golden filaments of light", her images dig into the barely perceptible to reveal the enigmatic, monstrous side of all things. The poems are a golden jackal that feeds on the detritus of others and runs laughing toward its own arcane metamorphosis.

Liliana Colanzi

In Golden Jackal, everything is metamorphosis: words refract into colors, jackals become humans, ancient myths translate into everyday stories, poems adopt narrative form, temporal paradoxes turn into linguistic bridges, selves are animals. From the figure of the jackal, Jessica Sequeira feeds on her doubts to gather vital hope, and scavenges from writing its wild state: its shining.

En Chacal Dorado, todo es metamorfosis: las palabras se refractan en colores, los chacales se vuelven humanos, los mitos antiguos se traducen en historias cotidianas, los poemas adoptan forma narrativa, las paradojas temporales se convierten en puentes lingüísticos, los seres son animales. A partir de la figura del chacal, Jessica Sequeira se alimenta de sus dudas para cobrar esperanza vital, y hurga en el estado salvaje de la escritura: su resplandor
