The astonishment for the beauty, cleanliness, and comfort of the hope lodge, as well as deep appreciation and gratitude to the staff and volunteers that do almost the impossible to satisfy the sick. The ironic yearning of the place where the author passed his sick days and the desire to share experiences with others currently going through this sickness.
The opportunity gained to establish a lasting friendship with people of different backgrounds and cultures from many countries. Here, the book explores the themes of social injustice, environmental concerns, national and regional sentiments of some figures. It also presents the strength and beauty of different personalities that brought moments of great reflection, joy, and happiness even in the middle of pain: showing how God is always present.
The role of a loving family as a great source of support during times of serious sickness is magnified in the final part of the work. Again, the theme of God's Word serving as a guide to keeping us together in love. Mention is made to Christian faith and even churches. The book serves every human facing death and asking the most powerful for help.
Poema narrativo, tanto en español como en inglés, expresando los sentimientos sufridos con el cáncer mientras era huésped en el Hogar de la Esperanza de la Asociación Americana del Cáncer en Tampa, Florida. Expresa el temor, ansiedad, incomodidad, tristeza, alegrías esperanzas y fe en Dios durante el tiempo de tratamiento del cáncer y después.
La sorpresa por la belleza, limpieza, y lo confortable del hogar de la esperanza, así como también la profunda apreciación y agradecimiento para los empleados y voluntarios que hacen casi lo imposible por satisfacer a los enfermos. La irónica nostalgia por aquel lugar donde el autor pasó sus días de enfermedad y el deseo de compartir experiencias con los que actualmente padecen esta enfermedad.
La oportunidad lograda para establecer amistades duraderas con personas de diferentes orígenes y culturas de distintos países. Aquí el libro explora los temas de justicia social, cuestiones ambientales, sentimientos nacionales y regionales de algunas figuras. También presenta la fortaleza y la belleza de algunas personalidades que produjeron momentos de gran reflexión, felicidad y alegría, aun en medio del dolor; mostrando como Dios está siempre presente.
El papel de una familia amorosa como fuente de apoyo durante momentos de serias enfermedades es magnificado en la parte final del libro. Nuevamente, el tema de la Palabra de Dios sirviendo como guía para mantenernos unidos en amor. Se menciona la fe cristiana y hasta algunas iglesias. El libro sirve para cualquier ser humano enfrentado a la muerte y pidiendo ayuda al más poderoso.
