Over 600,000 people go missing in the United States every year. Those are only the reported disappearances. Some are murdered or abducted, and some are found. Many disappear forever.
Go Away is a story about four missing people, Antonio, Estelle, Randy, and Claire, plus some lesser characters who impact their lives. You'll follow them through their cobwebs of deceit, constant fear of exposure and personal changes.
They were not innocent. Murder and theft haunted them. They got their hands on large sums of money through various means, some legal, some not. They had big secrets and were in grave danger. With discovery imminent and that outcome dire, they had to change their identities and disappear.
Being human, they were all flawed, and their morals were adjustable. Estelle was a bookkeeper with light fingers and dark skeletons. She first moved to New York and took on very different work. Randy's job in an Amazon warehouse was the pinnacle of his work history. He was also a small-time drug dealer and witnessed something unforgettable. An impulsive decision changed his life. He moved to Hollywood, California. Claire was a Russian spy working in a Miami tech company. She was a talented hacker. When she disappeared, the Russians weren't happy. They killed defectors. She first relocated to Chicago but had one last deadly task to complete. It wasn't the end of the road for her. Antonio was an unapologetic philanderer for much of his first marriage. A disastrous work accident changed his body and his life. His loathsome second wife, Lily, hadn't been seen for a while. No one was looking for her. He had to get away. He first moved to Seattle.
They all lived in the same condo in Florida but did not know each other. Just after they left, an explosion next to their building, possibly a bomb, mysteriously killed everyone in their condo. They had hoped their disappearances would not be discovered for weeks or months. Now, they're terrorism suspects. Two of them know something about this blast. They disperse far and wide, changing their lives and their fortunes forever.
They had to go away.
They kept moving.
Everybody has secrets, and everybody lies. Ghosts of the past can haunt you.
