About the Book

Globalisation via trade and FDI has produced new challenges so far as the development of poor economies are concerned. This process via integration of economic activities with world economics has given new opportunities to those who are in well off positions and at the better ends of income and employment opportunities. Majority of disempowering masses has become a victim in this process. Thus, globalisation via trade is external globalisation which has given ample opportunities to multinationals to reap the benefit via exclusive use of natural resources of the poor countries and its population base. This globalisation is financial globalisation strengthening the process of capitalization of Indian economy via integrating it with world economy. Globalisation, the issues and policy concerned has been discussed in greater detail in five different parts in this book. Part I deals with content and the concept, Part II discusses development perspectives of globalisation, Part III presents a cooperative regional analysis of the impacts of globalisation, Part IV explains the institutional distortions caused by it and the issue of non-governance in institutions via corruption and vested interest operations and Part V the whole issue of inclusiveness via better use of human capital base to develop India as labour power, house of skilled labour power, so that globalisation and its consequences can create new opportunities for developing world as whole to prosper and furnish.
