Wenn die "Goldspitze" einmal festgenagelt ist, wird diese Stätte zum einzigen Grenzstein einer bestimmten geologischen Epoche in der internationalen Geologie. Daher ist seine Einrichtung eine hohe wissenschaftliche Auszeichnung für die stratigraphische Forschung, die von großer Bedeutung für das Verständnis der Erdgeschichte und die Erforschung der Geheimnisse der biologischen Entwicklung der Erde ist. Sie war schon immer ein heißes Pflaster und ein hart umkämpftes Feld für Geologen in der ganzen Welt.

Die Untersuchung des "Golden Spike" ist eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben der Stratigraphieforschung und ein wichtiges Grundlagenforschungsthema der geowissenschaftlichen Forschung. Seit 2001 hat die Dritte Nationale Kommission für Stratigraphie das Projekt "Forschung über die Entstehung der wichtigsten chronologischen Schichten in China" initiiert. Dieses Projekt wurde in vollem Umfang vom China Geological Survey sowie von der National Natural Science Foundation, dem Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Technologie, der Chinesischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und anderen Stellen in unterschiedlicher Form unterstützt. Nahezu einhundert Stratigraphie- und Paläontologieexperten widmen sich seit mehr als 20 Jahren der Erforschung der wichtigsten Datierungsschichten in China und tragen dazu bei, dass die Erforschung von Kandidatenprofilen für globale Grenzschichten in China immer neue Durchbrüche erzielt. China verfügt über 10 von der International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) und der International Commission on Startigraphy (ICS) anerkannte "Golden Spikes" und ist damit das Land mit den meisten "Goldnägeln" der Welt (insgesamt 64).

Von der Erforschung der "Goldnägel" bis zur Ansiedlung von 10 "Goldnägeln" in China haben chinesische Wissenschaftler mehr und mehr Gehör in den wissenschaftlichen und technologischen Kreisen der Welt gefunden, und unsere wissenschaftlichen und technologischen Leistungen wurden allmählich von der Welt anerkannt.
