Was haben Gleichnisforschung, Religionspädagogik und Entwicklungspsychologie gemeinsam? Was können die neutestamentlichen Gleichnisse im schulischen Religionsunterricht anbieten, vermitteln oder gar bewirken, und welche Rolle spielen in der Unterrichtsgestaltung die entwicklungspsychologischen Erkenntnisse? Darum soll es in dieser Untersuchung gehen, wobei die Schulkinder, in der Art, wie sie sich entwickeln, im Mittelpunkt stehen. Wie kann die Begabung der Schüler so gefördert werden, dass zugleich ihre Freude am Lernen erhalten bleibt? Auf den ersten Blick befindet sich der Lehrer in einem Zwiespalt von spielerischen und zielgerichteten Lernfähigkeiten seiner Schüler. Doch die Herausforderung besteht gerade darin, beides im Blick zu behalten und sich dabei an "Persönlichkeitsbild und Bildungsbedürfnissen" der Schüler zu orientieren. Dies trifft ebenfalls auf die Religionspädagogik zu. Es stellt sich die Frage, wie können die Gleichnisse Jesu, ausgehend von Bedürfnissen der Schulkinder, so vermittelt werden, dass die Entwicklung ihrer Persönlichkeit gefördert wird? Hinzu kommen die Anforderungen der säkularen Umwelt. Gerade der metaphorische Charakter, den die ursprünglichen Gleichnisse Jesu haben, macht es möglich, die Einbildungskraft der Kinder zu stärken, sie zur für sie aktuellen Einsicht zu führen und schließlich die Reflexion anzuregen. Die Untersuchung berücksichtigt die Überlegungen der pädagogischen Psychologie, wie sie Heinrich Roth dargestellt hat. Daraus ergeben sich vor allem Probleme in der religiösen Erziehung von Kindern im Grundschulalter. Die didaktische Verwendung von Gleichnissen in den Stufen der Grundschule und Sekundarstufe soll untersucht werden. Die Studie beschränkt sich auf den Gleichnistyp lukanischer Gleichnisse vom Verlorenen. Sie wird unter o. a. Gesichtspunkten die Probleme herausarbeiten und an den Gleichnissen demonstrieren. Es gilt herauszufinden, welcher Grad des Verstehens bei der Verwendung von Gleichnissen bedacht werden muss
