It's a rare person who welcomes hard times, challenge, failure, and faults. Our natural response might be to question, "Why me?" or to sink into shame and regret. But the Bible tells us over and over again that our struggles are meant to help us become better versions of ourselves and grow closer to God. In this memoir, I share with you my most vulnerable moments, those hard times that helped me learn that not just in spite of my flaws and challenges, but because of them, I could be redeemed, forgiven, and glammed by God's grace.
Reflections from the Author:
As I retire my pen, I am sitting here in a bunker where I have spent a portion of my time writing things out in my head. The temperature has begun dropping, and the smell of smoke looms large. I am in a country where so many have died so that you and I might enjoy the freedom that their sacrifices have afforded us.
Looking back over my life, I now stand proud to be all that I am, regardless of the trials and tribulations I've had to endure. Most assuredly, all that I am, if I am anything at all, I owe it all to the Most High God!
My dog tags are tucked away, and my combat boots are laced, not knowing what I will face just around the bend. Yet, I know in whom I believe and that He is able to keep me from all hurt, harm, and danger, as I endeavor to serve and protect my country.
It is my earnest desire that this book reaches the masses, giving hope to all who would dare to pick it up and read it. My intent is that it will shine a light in the dark places of someone's life. Remember, be proud of who you are in every moment and aspect of your life. No matter where life takes you, or what obstacles you face, keep your head held high and face each day with grace.
When the question is posed: "How are you, really?" may your response be: "I'm living the dream, glammed by the Grace of God!"
